Paws of Honor: A Second Chance for Heroes

At For the Love of Dogs, second chances aren’t just for our pups. They’re for people, too. Our upcoming Paws of Honor program will train shelter dogs to become loyal companions for former military personnel facing challenges like PTSD, anxiety, or isolation. Together, they’ll rediscover trust, purpose, and connection, proving that healing runs both ways.

At For the Love of Dogs, we’re creating a new program that helps our furry friends become confident, gentle companions for children. Through positive reinforcement and supervised socialization, dogs learn how to interact safely with kids while building trust, patience, and playfulness.

These trained pups will soon brighten the lives of families and schools across our community, spreading kindness, confidence, and tail wags one child at a time.
